A morning at Hum Cafe

Vo Van Tan street is often frantic, but behind a white wall, on the other side of a narrow wooden bridge, you find a quiet, sunlit yard. The light shine through large windows. Timid winds flutter little bells. Birds chirp. Lemongrass scent lingers on the colorful curtains. It is tranquil here.
Everyone at Hum are preparing for the opening time, tying the curtains, arranging the bowls and chopsticks… It is the same task everyday, but when we put our hearts in it, we find joy in every process. It would be our pleasure to invite you to a morning at Hum Vegetarian, Cafe & Restaurant.

Summer Salad Workshop at Hum Garden

IMG_3693.jpg

Our Summer Salad Workshop was held on a beautiful Saturday morning in May at Hum Garden, Thao Dien. At the inner garden, surrounded by greenery and flowers, we welcomed our guests to learn how to make one of our newest salad recipes, the dragonfruit salad. It was such a charming scene to witness everyone gathered together around a big long table to attentively listen to Hum's head chef giving a step-by-step cooking demonstration for a special salad dressing. As the people who assist behind the scenes, we can't help but be mesmerized by the bright pink colors of dragonfruit, red of spiny bitter gourd and green of shining bush. All that very "summer" color created such an vibrant dish from these common ingredients found in Vietnam.

Let's admire all the different stylings of this summer salad by our guests. Thank you for coming and showing us your creativity and talents, we hope to see you again at our future activities.

Watercolor Painting Workshop with Le Rin

Brown rice in lotus leaf

Painting is not only one of the most enjoyable hobbies, but also an effective therapeutic and calming technique. Aiming to connect people through food and art, we collaborated with the young and talented Le Rin to host a watercolor food painting workshop at Hum Garden - Thao Dien. It was a fun and relaxing event for our guests to unwind in Hum's peaceful garden and learn about different techniques for watercolor painting. By the end of the session, we were amazed at everyone’s skill and creativity, even though for most of them it was their first time learning about watercolor!

Thank you for joining us at Hum. We hope to see you again soon!
